#WantItWednesday (28/10/15)

I am going away with the family for Christmas this year... it's going to be warm, the exchange rate (for now) is looking good and I am slowly starting to warm up to the idea...

As it has been a while since I have flown long haul I have been thinking quite seriously about luggage options (all of my current options are only suitable for long weekends) and whenever I think of luggage I remember the greatest fictional luggage collection ever to have existed. Wes Anderson's Darjeeling Limited Family Luggage collection.

Via Classic Driver
I loved this film and the luggage stayed with me forever. I lusted after the collection (created specifically for the film by Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs no less) and spend months, searching hoping and praying that this luggage collection were available to buy so I could bankrupt myself.
Alas, it was only made for the film and the pieces were auctioned off for charity at a cost I couldn't even come close to, even if I did actively bankrupt myself.

Then... Something happened.

#WantItWednesday (21/10/15)

So my birthday has been and gone, I am sad that I am another year older and I still have birthday money burning a hole in my pocket (that wasn't converted to gin). So I have been scouring the globe (literally) looking for ways to spend my birthday money! I shouldn't have wasted my time; the answer was right in front of me and in my own city the whole time.

From Alex Monroe

One of my favourite jewellery designers of all time, Alex Monroe is famed for his glorious bee motif jewellery. I have spoken about my love for his craftsmanship time and time again. So when it comes to Treat 'Yo Self for your birthday I could think of nothing else I wanted 'to me, from me'

I love a pinky ring and this truly is the pinkiest of pinky rings and is just GORGEOUS!

I wear a lot of white gold and silver jewellery and this sits with the rest of my permanent jewellery collection beautifully.

The bee motif is classic Monroe; beautiful  and as quintessentially British as ever. Just another reason why I desperately want it!
Each ring is personally sized so you needn't worry about it falling off like most off the rack rings and the bee is just raised enough for it to not catch on every sleeve you have ever owned (extra important during the winter months)

So yeah, this is exactly what my birthday money is going toward, much better than gin I think!

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday 14/10/15

So I missed a week, I've been busy drawing up and sending a lists to everyone in time for my birthday, which is (shock horror) tomorrow. *sad face*

From & Other Stories
So at the top of my list to commiserate another year older with this beauty from & Other Stories. With the weather drawing in this is the perfect item to sink into stylishly.

I love the lapels on this too, perfect to pop in the driving wind and fill with a thick, extra warm scarf, like this one

The colour is great too. It makes you feel like the winter is a distant memory with its pastel hue.  This works well with all of my favourites shades of uniformity (Navy, Grey, Beige)

Have a look at my ways to wear below:

All looks can be found here

Go on... you've 24 hours until my birthday and the weather is looking pretty crappy. Who wants to get me a present (or five?!)

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday (30/09/15)

So I am in search of a new diary; As a firm pretend grown up I am a believer that diary's are really important. Writing your plans on something other than a post it or the back of your hand does, surprisingly help you to keep track of things.

Panama Diary, Smythson

As it is with you for a whole year you may as well spend some money on it. The Panama Diary from Smythson is the perfect fit. It's small enough to in a pocket, or slip effortlessly into a handbag, or clutch without you being aware that you are carrying a diary around with you all the time.

I am a particular fan of this colour too. It's fun and bright, it's a grown up piece of handbag furniture that doesn't have to make you feel old.

I have already mentioned that I am a HUGE fan of all things stationery, and this goregeous little beauty is no exception.
It'll make you want to plan things, just so you can show this beauty off!

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday (23/09/25)

From Topshop

Autumn has well and truly arrived and I am now looking for something that will help me transition into the bleak cold months. I have found a perfect pair of boots from Topshop that fit the bill perfectly.

This work well with bare legs and the inevitable thick, opaque tights that will happen in the bleak dark nights to come

Now, I would pair these with a pair of skinny jeans, an oversized shirt and a giant, comfy jumper. Sheer Autumn Perfection!

Because the heel is super chunky, these are really comfortable as a casual everyday shoe. Go on... you know you want a pair!

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday (16/09/15)

So those of you of a certain age will remember the glory of 'The Hills' and were (as I was) suitably obsessed with the exploits of Lauren et al and their glamorously scripted lives.
One of (IMHO) the stand-out characters was an intern, with a fantastic nickname, 'Super Emily'. She was admired and disliked in equal measures and was one my favourite people when she cropped up in a few episodes.

#WantItWednesday (09/09/15)

So I have missed a week; blame it on a home improvement gone awry. However I am back with a vengeance and wonderful new dining table in my flat to eat on. Once I had managed to put the table up I was once again back on the high street looking for my next sartorial fix.

From Monki
And I found it this week with the hidden gem that is Monki
I was always a bit weary of this chain; it always looks really painfully young and cool. The kind of cool you'd want to clip around the ear.

I had come across a few bits during my hourly trawl through ASOS. Some of their best pieces (more than a couple are now proudly sat on my clothing rail of merit) like this shirt dress and these culottes.

Next on my list of things to buy is this perfect oversized sweater dress from their AW15 arrivals. This is huge, soft and perfect in many and any occasion.

I would wear it with a crisp, white shirt and one of my many hundreds of white trainers or plimsolls. (these would look best with that look)

In fact... I like the idea of this look so much that I am clicking 'add to basket' as I speak, with about 100 other bits! oops.

Until next week!

#WantItWednesday (26/08/15)

Well... Summer is OVER I am DEVASTATED.
So I am looking forward to wrapping up and doing the only thing I can during the chilly, wet and miserable weather. Layering up with style.

I have been on a hunt. I have been looking for shirts, tops, skirts and trousers that lend themselves to be worn under or on top of hundreds of different warming others.

The chicest way to layer, in my opinion is to layer, using variants of the same colour.

I have always said I wear a 'uniform' and that uniform consists of five colours, beige, white, black & navy. It also helps that these beautiful colours lend themselves quite well to a layered wardrobe.

I have found the perfect item to begin your layering for the season and can you believe it? It's under £20!
From New Look
This absolute steal from New Look(link) is amazing, easy to wear and the perfect base to start adding layers to. It even comes in my uniform of shades. (So I'll have two in every colour please!)

I would pair this with a pair of cigarette trousers (these would go excellently), a pair of plimsolls or über fashionable trainers du jour and a button down (done up all the way) for an easy casual look for work. You could even go nuts; with a button down tunic or shirts dress underneath it too. Pair or with a huge scarf like an old favourite (sadly discontinued) on an extra blustery day, (like today) or a super cute, super yellow raincoat

Look at the ways to wear below:

See not the sun has gone out. I'm really depressed; so layers and comfort are the only things that could save me; that and spending countless hours shopping.

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday (19/08/15)

Via Cos

So Summer is more or less over (sob) so I have been searching high and low for transition pieces that can take me through to the bleak winter.

I have been looking for something in one of my favourite colours, Navy and I have found this beauty and a half from one of my favourite shops, Cos.

This glorious shirt is the sartorial mullet of tops; business in the front...Party at the back.

This is perfect for a work outfit or relaxing in a pair of baggy boyfriend jeans.

#WantItWednesday (12/08/205)

From Cos

So the weather has been flipping out the last couple of days.
It's been humid and cloudy, sunny and windy and because of it, I am taking hours to get ready.
I am just not sure what the day will bring.
So I have been looking for a dress that is suitable for all seasons, is easy to wear and can be dressed up easily. I have found it in this chic simple beauty from Cos.

I love this dress. The would look amazing with a pair of converse as it would with a pair of chic glitzy sandals.

This is perfect for the changeable weather, it's a heavy duty jersey; perfect for when the wind & rain picks up, The Oversized shape is perfect for those lighter, brighter days and nights.

This dress also fits in seamlessly with my wardrobe of grey, black & navy blue so could easily be carried into the Autumn months because I think I will be wearing this for a long time to come.

Until Next week!

#WantItWednesday (05/08/16)

I have been on a bit of a home decor vibe the last couple of weeks.
I have been painting, decorating and DIYing like a trouper and I love it! I have been dreaming about bookshelves and furniture and I am not sorry about it!

From Made.com
I am have been in need of lighting for ages. My flat is lovely (now after weeks of decoration) but I am sick of having the ceiling light on all the time... And then I found this.

I am complete and totally in love with this Copper lamp from Made.com. It is fun, cool and makes me feel like I am not in my flat in deepest darkest East London; but in an huge, spacious loft in the middle of Copenhagen.

This looks great modern furniture (aka IKEA, let's not pretend) and it's really, good value for it's design. I have decided that this beauty will be perfect next to my enormous floor mirror. Perfect for those #OOTD Instagram shots I should be taking.

Copper is one of my metals of the moment. I have a lot of accents in it throughout my home. To be honest, I want to gilt my flat in it.

I have searched high and low for the best pieces for the home. Have a look at my favourite pieces here:
From L-R: Oliver Bonas, Tom Dixon, Ikea
So as you can see, it's taking over my life.
I am off to buy more copper.

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday (29/07/15)

So this week, I have been searching high a low for a new bag. A bag that will not only be easy to throw on while I am crushed on the tube; but to carry my lunch (because I am good and bring a packed lunch... most days), my books and everything else I normally carry in my black hole of a handbag.
From MatchesFashion
And I've found it in this perfect cross-body bag from The Row. This is roomy and chic and looks perfect with just about any outfit, whether it's a casual Friday or a Manic Monday. I love the colour of it too. Navy is my go to colour for any chic fashionista, I would even say (possibly in hushed tones) that I prefer navy to black. It's a lot softer and warmer and goes with just as much as the ubiquitous chic shade.

It's large enough to shove everything in and still be stylish as hell AND you can easily shove others out of the way during the rush hour madness. You'll feel fab doing it too!
(not that you don't anyway!)

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday (22/07/15)

With it being warm there are more reasons for us to wear dresses (HOORAY!) I have been on a hunt for the best dresses on the market.
So I am going to be short & sweet for today's #WantItWednesday.
From Warehouse
I have found this amazing dress from Warehouse. This is perfectly on trend for Summer & Autumn with a distinct 70s vibe. The panel detail on the empire line is really cute and makes you want to don a pair of platforms and dance the night away in Studio 54.

Have a look at my ways to wear below:

I am off to the park now, to soak up the most of the summer, until next week!

#WantItWednesday (15/07/15)

From M&S

So it has been blissfully warm the last couple of weeks and I love it! The only problem is I am having to peel myself out of my uniform of jeans, button downs and jumpers because, frankly, I look ridiculous.

So I find myself uttering the same expression, morning, after morning, like a loon. 'I have nothing to wear' So I have been looking in unlikely places to find dresses that I like and aren't ridiculous.

#WantItWednesday (08/07/15)

From Kiko Milano

So this week I have been soaking up the sunshine; anywhere I can find it. In the park, a beer garden anywhere that I have been able to get my summer drink of choice on.
(you should try it... seriously delicious!)

So with all of those hot days and cool drinks, I have been thinking about lipsticks and how to keep it is firmly attached to my lips and not the glass I am coquettishly sipping from.

So I have been looking for fun summer colours that won't break the bank and I have found the holy grail in Kiko Milano's Smart Lipsticks.
Available in 24 shades, most of them perfect for summer. They are hard-wearing, kind to your lips and incredibly cheap (for the price of FOUR different shades from Kiko's range you would get ONE from MAC).

The prep for all lipsticks are exactly the same. If you are unsure of the best way to make lipstick last, this is my favourite method. This is even more important during the summer months when the all make-up threatens to slide off at any opportunity.

These are my favourite shades (so far)
(L-R Watermelon (911), Strawberry Pink (904) & Natural Neige (901)

So I am off to try every shade in the collection, because they are amazing, and I don't have to wait until payday...HOORAY!

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday (01/07/15)

From Office
So to give you a bit of background on this week's #WantItWednesday, I have to talk to you about a
particularly arduous journey into work one morning.

I was crushed against another 100 people (as usual) on the tube. It was hot and miserable and was staring at the floor; as I had run out of newspaper and the will to live.

Then I saw an effortlessly fashionable and literally cool woman on glide into the carriage in these BEAUTIES. I fell in love. Hard.

I then spent the rest of the week (no joke) searching high and low for these sandals sent from heaven as I was unable to ask the wonderful lady where her shoes were from.
(I was unfortunately rammed under the unsavoury armpit of another tube user)
I eventually found them in Office and a new summer sandal romance was born.

These go with everything in my wardrobe, my skinny jeans, my boyfriend jeans, my pleated skirts my midi skirts, you name it, it goes with it.
They are also in my favourite hue; rose gold, I love rose gold, I love copper, I love bronze It's spectacular. I have spoken on numerous occasions about my love of this shade. 100% one of my favourites.

Look at of these wonderful ways to wear here:

See? Have I converted you yet?
Just look at how happy my feet are?!

Until Next Week!

#WantItWednesday (24/06/15)

From Monki

I have been searching high and low for a lovely relaxed, summer skirt and I think I have found it in this gorgeous skirt from Monki

This lightweight, striped denim skirt is perfect for the longer evenings spent outside. This works well with an oversized button down or a Tshirt, even one of my favourite Fisherman Jumpers from American Apparel for when the nights draw in.

I think my summer prayers have been answered with this little beauty. This is fun, relaxed and delightfully vintage for the summer.

Lacquer up: The Self Made Nail Artists.

From LuciesLocket
It's not a secret that I love nail polish. I talk about it all the time. I take pride in painting my nails weekly and can often be found spamming my instagram feed with images of said handiwork.

I am not the only one either. I found out quite recently that the sales of nail polish outstripped sales of lipstick, the first cosmetic for an instant pick me up.

I know why I am buying three nail polishes a month, and one lipstick a month; but why is everyone else?
