#WantItWednesday (26/02/14)

From the Flights of Fancy collection, introducing our Hot Air Balloon, two-pass engraved in red and gold.

Flights of Fancy Stationary Range Crane & Co

It's no secret that I love stationery and love receiving letters. The art of correspondence is something that cannot be replicated. I peek into my letter cubby and I always let out a little squeal of delight when I get a letter updating me on my lovely friends across the world. you Just cannot beat it.

It is especially exhilarating when it is written on exquisite Stationery. These three are the ones I get the most excited about.

#WantItWednesday (19/02/14)

For this week's #WantItWednesday I am thinking in Bling.
With the dank, wet weather (hopefully) behind us and the
end of London Fashion Week, I am bringing a little embellishment with me, just like the runway of Mary Katrantzou.
This piece of neck confection does this perfectly!

From one of my ultimate favourites (I actually squealed with delight when the Rhianna for Balmain pictures emerged, relive the beauty again here!) This collar is perfect with jumpers and shirts, it can be worn with a spaghetti strap dress or a T-shirt. It can, essentially be worn with anything!

Look at the neck perfection!

You can dress up with this, dress down with this, you could conceivably wear this everyday and make every outfit look different.
You'll want to be snapped, just like at fashion week!

LFW AW14 Preview... Ones to watch!

With less than a week to go before the special heels are taken out of the wardrobe and the blogger pose is perfected I thought now would be a good time to go through the collections that I am watching out for during London Fashion Week.

Daks

I am an old lady at heart when it comes to some labels. I look back the silhouettes during the Art Nouveau and Deco periods and wish I could fill my wardrobe with their sumptuous delights. Daks evokes this for me, time and time again. it does not mess around. It is clean, simple and more importantly ELEGANT AS HELL.  You put on a Daks blazer and you feel the history of its 120 years on your shoulders, expertly crafted you feel like you have dropped right into the middle of Brideshead, ready for an adventure on the lawn.

Daks, 14th of Feb, 2pm

Hunter

EVERYONE is talking about Hunter's first foray into London Fashion Week and I couldn't talk about one British heritage brand without mentioning another.
Expect, elegant updates on the good old gumboot, with bespoke designs (excruciatingly on trend of course!) There is no stopping this internationally recognised brand.

Preen

A celebrity staple, found on the backs of everyone from Chloe Sevigny to Rhianna and Carey Mulligan this collection is fun, relaxed and bright Expertly crafted with its tongue planted firmly in its cheek. Saturday cannot come soon enough for me!

Preen, 16th of Feb, 9am

Peter Pilotto

Another brand on the tip of everyone's tongue is Peter Pilotto. This young, fun and rebellious label has just completed it collection for the American Superstore, Target to great aplomb. Expect another bright, pattern heavy collection begging for it's pieced to be clashed. I already want it all!

#WantItWednesday (12/02/14)

As Valentine's day is fast approaching I am sure you are throwing hefty hints and elbows in the general direction of your significant other. I have  taken an idea from Buzzfeed and have  added a few extra bits to help you to create the perfect gift for your loved one.

THE VALENTINE HAMPER!

Champagne - You can't go wrong with a bottle of bubbly and these i think (taste tested of course!) are right on the money if you are spending, saving or 'not quite' solvent!

Spend

You cannot go wrong with bottle of bubbly. The bottle is eternal, the sentiment strong and you will definitely get a glass or two if you play your cards right! You can find it here.

Saving

For an Equally legitimate and delicious bottle of 'poo, this isn't favored by the royals without warrant! it is delicious and crisp, perfect for a very romantic and cosy night in! You can get it here.

'Not Quite' Solvent

For those on a budget you can do no wrong with this beauty. it doesn't always have to be from the Champagne region to be delicious and romantic and this proves it time and time again! You can pick this up here.

Cards & Trinkets - It's always the little things that enforce the emotion of a good Valentine's gift. the handmade cookies, the extra little notes or a twee and sentimental card. Here's my selection of the best ones to make it a little easier for you to decide!

Chocolates & Sweet Treats - it's not valentines unless chocolate or some other confectionery comes with the card and whispers of see nothings! No expense (in my opinion anyway) should be spared for this part) here are a selection of the best chocolates for your loved one.
If chocolates aren't your partners vice these cute, hand decorate biscuits are cute enough for any occasion.
Get a selection of sweet nothings, it will tick all the boxes!
Secret admirer

The BIG gift - you always should have a showstopper in your valentines hamper, whether it's a piece or jewellery, perfume or a gift set. Something to make your SO loose the power of speech and shower you with hugs and kisses. These are a selection of my top choices for your shows topper:
Floral harmony

You can't go wrong with a Jo Malone fragrance. You just can't. A beautiful, limited edition valentines set ticks all the boxes and will be sure to get you a big kiss on the big day.
Get it here.

Whether your man has a perfectly coiffed beard that you want him to maintain or you want them to (tactfully) remove the fuzz this gift set from 'en vogue' barbers, Murdock London is sure to give him a big smile and a soft beard for you to play with. Or not. Get it here.

For a real showstopper, JEWELS are always a winner. Here's a pick of my top five:

(Clockwise from Left)

Flowers - You have to get flowers and in this hamper you can do no wrong by adding these to your wonderful hamper in a mason jar. Most florists now will now have these in stock for you, if not jam jars are just as cute!

Finally the hamper to put it all in. you getting a crate from a veg market is a good idea but it is quite difficult to get an attractive wooden one this side of the Atlantic. To keep the 'rustic' hand made element alive I would suggest a willow basket.
These are wasy to come by and there is a wonderful selection here.

So there you have it!
Enjoy your Valentine's and I hope you get all you dreamed on this day of Saint Valentine!

Ta for now!

#WantitWednesday (05/02/14)

It has been a while since I committed my want list to the blogesphere.
I thought I would start this up again in the vain hope someone somewhere will hear my cries of 'I want it on Wednesday!'

As it is cold outside I find more often than not my hands plunged firmly into the warming depths of my coat pockets as I am quite sure they would fall off from frostbite and/or damp at the moment . That is why, this week my #WantItWednesday is of course the cute cross body bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs.
This fun, creamy confection has hints of spring and is cute as a button with a camel coat and big thick wintry scarf. Perfectly on trend (coral was everywhere at the SS14 LFW) I think this works with best with fifty shades of cream. Trousers, jumpers, shirts. The hint of colour is more than enough to help you cling on to the vain hope that summer is just around the corner! Even if you are stood on a dank and dark tubstation waiting for the tube during the strike!
