A Birthday Wish List

As I have just entered my mid (to late) twenties I am now finding the the increasing usefulness of the 'Birthday Wishlist'. The list, sent to every family member, best friend, husband/boyfriend, flatmate or just anyone you would like to have a gift from on a day that is specifically for you eliminates the ever increasing frozen face, often practised before a the presentation of yet another lip gloss gift set from Boots.

Because I am now entering into the ever public blogsphere, I thought digitising my wish list for all to see and for others to (ahem) take note.
I am being conservative and listed my top ten rather than the usual fifteen pages (front and back) that is par for the course for my closest family members and best friends.

Please take note, by all means copy the wish list idea and definitely let me know of your preferred method of gifting coercion!

10. Sequins are the cornerstone of any amazing outfit that will turn heads and this top is an amazingly chic way to do so. Make it casual by adding a crisp white shirt underneath with a pair of cigarette trousers in slate grey for a sparkly everyday pick-me-up or Vamp it up with a leather mini and a statement necklace.
Whistles, £195

9. I don't care that I have nearly every colour in the entire range, but this is always a welcome gift in my book! These jumpers can be worn with ANYTHING, dressed up with a patterned skirt, bare legs with a pair of fancy heels and dressed down with a pair of jeans and a nice cuff. It really is a shame they don't make them in enough colours so I am able to wear one of these every day of the year. Casual Perfection!
American Apparel Fisherman Jumper, £66

8. Birthdays mean(at least to me anyway) JEWELS! An opportunity to ask for rock on your birthday is much better than nagging your significant other for 'that' ring! My personal favourite are the rising trend for stacking rings, and the jeweller who perfects the art of a gorgeous stacking Ring is Monica Vinader . Made from exquisite precious metals and and artfully rough hewn stones these rings single handedly revive the 'more is more campaign' not to outdo Mr. T. I would very much like to have these proudly stacked on every other finger available. Monica Vinader Prices from£50

7. I always tend to put practical things on my birthday wishlist as it always frees up my money for much prettier, special occasion things that feeds the insatiable shopaholic monster that resides in my being. Practical, doesn't have to mean boring and the staple that is Converse All Stars are not exception. These may bring back memories of sullen adolescents and jeans with the circumference of a giant's head, but they are classics for a reason. Stick with the classic shades, Red, White and Black. They were made to go with anything and are comfortable and give  you instant cool points (even if it that is just in my head) The widest selection I have found outside of a Converse Store can be found here Prices From £49.99

6.  I know I am part of an ever decreasing number of people who appreciate a good diary/notebook nestled in the bowels of my bag. It does make me feel like a grown up having one and I do, rather self indulgently whipping it out at any given occasion. My Personal favourite notebook/diary of choice is of course the Moleskine, I prefer the hard-backed version and the new colours that have been introduced add a bit of fun and a whizz of excitement every time I write my weekly shopping list. My colour of choice,  however impractical is white and can be found here The Large (My size of choice) is £13.50

5. I am autumnal child and as a result my birthday celebrations are often on the chillier side of the year. So I always tend to find a good Winter coat often lands itself on my list, year after year. Of course this year is no exception and I have been swinging wildly between fashionable pink and the sensible camel as the coat of choice for colder climes. I still haven't been able to decide so both colours have landed on my list this year. The Pink Coat from Hobbs £239 is classically cut and just the right side of pink to make you feel like you are standing apart from the crowd for the right reasons. The camel coat, is a modern take on a similar cut but it just makes you feel spectacular every time you put on your shoulders. This absolute beauty can be found in French Connection and is a surprising £175 easily allowing you to go for both this winter!
Lacey Coat

4. Because the aforementioned climes are drawing in I tend to stick to flats during the colder months to avoid any ankle induced injuries when the inevitable ice sets in. These flats however have filled me with a joy that will make me wish it were slightly icy every morning! These beautiful and unusual flats from See by Chloe are complete confectionery for the feet and you will want to thrust your feet in the direction of anyone that mentions the colder weather and their choice of footwear! the best part is that they are on SALE!! An incredible 50% off.

I am DYING! £122

Tree Zip Around Wallet3. It's a Family superstition that you should never use your own money to buy a purse (I have no idea either?!) So I use my birthday as the traditional time of year to request a new receptacle  or all of my important receipts, credit cards and loyalty cards. This one has particularly captured my imagination.
It is grown up, without being dowdy or 'affected' and I am of the opinion that wallets and purses should always be of a classic hue. this ticks all the boxes and is genuinely fabulous! Mulberry, £275
Charlotte Olympia  front2. I am a BIG fan of platform wedges and every time I come across a new pair I do dream about them for weeks until they are in my possession  The Charlotte Olympia 'Carmen' Wedges are no exception. They are of a very sensual deep crimson red, not at all practical for the season but birthdays are not about being practical!                                                                                    I find these would complete a wonderfully luxurious look partnered with the sequinned top listed as my number 10 and will haunt my dreams for weeks to come! £525

Alexander Wang 1.  The item most coveted my birthday list is obviously saved for last. Everyone should have a decent handbag. I prefer mine, large and in charge and built for the inevitable crushing that both myself and the central put it through on a daily basis. This Alexander Wang matches all of these requirements and is pretty beautiful while it does so. It comes with an handy little shoulder strap as well so it is essentially the PERFECT handbag. I will be waiting for this at my birthday party and will pull a fully deserved birthday tantrum if I don't get it! £835
